Finally Going Single! Part 2
In February of last year I started my build thread in the single turbo forum. Since then, I rearranged my photobucket account and as a result, many of the links to the images are now broken and I am unable to edit them. I decided to repost many of the pictures here in the 3rd Gen section so this will be a continuation (in a way) of the old thread found here:
https://www.rx7club.com/single-turbo-rx-7s-23/finally-going-single-889334/ As a refresher, here is a list of the mods will be adding, or already have on this build. I was going to say your wastegate is on backwards but looks like you got it taken care of! Besides that it looks really nice. Very similar to what I am doing. Good job.
looks great, as stated rotated the wastegate so that its facing the ground. unless you plan on running a closed wastegate.
I've been debating on whether or not to plumb it back into the exhaust. Opinions???

your build looks good.
great looking ride, all the hard work will be worth it in the end. I had a blast with my rebuild.
Mine is vented but it is all up to your preference. If you're in a place that is anal about smog laws and cops all over, I would suggest plumbing it back into the exhaust. Mine is vented and in car it doesn't seem loud really. But this is coming from someone who had a 05 GTO with LT headers, large cam and open headers.
i love it all. that cooling plate is shexy.
two thumbs up for you man nice job!
as stated depending on emission laws that should help you decided what to do. i run an open wastegate and love the sound of it opening up, but we dont have smog were i live.
super sexy build
That's very sexy :)
Thanks for the compliments. Here's some more progress pics of things o fabled in the last few days.
New mount for the coils integrating a support tab for the intake manifold. http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...7/5b63826d.jpg Front bumper support and a drop bracket for the relays so they will be just under the cover between the intercooler and the radiator. http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...7/19615555.jpg |
Looks like a really tidy setup you have there mate! Keep up for good work.
All that nice work and a cheap Fram oil filter Hmm !
Haha. I already had the filter sitting on my shelf. It was left over from my wife's old Infinity G20 we sold a long time ago. No worries, it wont be on there for long.

thats bad ass!:icon_tup:
Nice man! I got to see this thing sometime soon!
Turbo8, once I get it done I'll start going to the meets again. Do you usually go to them? I haven't beard much lately since Mike B put his car into the wall.
Here's more pics of the new radiator mounts/ductwork. http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...7/e13b4c44.jpg http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...7/c4e9fd55.jpg |
