From Drift car to Show car

Hi there,

I bought my Rex in September of 2015 with the dream of building a Fortune Fast and Furious orange and black replica film car. I also wanted to have power to match the looks. I scoured the internet and found my beast.

The car was originally a drift car which i believe had previously been featured in a magazine but cannot find anything to collaborate this. The previous owner had spent a fortune(excuse the pun) on highly modifying the engine to enable the car to achieve 700 BHP. The car is currently pushing 423BHP @ 0.7 bar, but i am assured by the shop that carried out all the mods that it can easily achieve the numbers.

This is what the car looked like when i bought it. There appears to be a big divide on the fortune look, you either love it of hate it. I will continue to post updates as we go along and welcome any views

Full air ride from across the pond

I was persuaded to look at having air ride fitted to the car. Being a show car we wanted to improve the stance. Apparently this is the only car in Europe to have full air ride and thanks to our friends at becausebags.com, we now have an awesome stance which will hopefully match the look of the car on completion. The car is running 19" on the front, and 20" on the back. The rear wheelarches had to be tubbed to accomodate the larger size and to get a nice tuck.

Primer Stage

The body has now been repaired prepared and primer coat has been shot. Using black to show up any blemishes or defects. Next job will be to duplicate the process with the Fortune panels prior to final fitting process.

Panels now in primer for final fitting

After hours of reworking, the panels now line up and fit. The primer is now being shot onto the panels and a final check before they are permanently fitted to the car.
