Chaddy P's 1997 JDM FD3S Jamaican build!

Greetings folks. I am new to the forum , new to rotary, new to rx7's and the list continues. I just purchased a 1997 FD3S in japan and its being loaded up on the ship to make the voyage all the way to my Island home of Jamaica. There are a few Fd3s Rx7's on the island, maybe about 20 or so, therefore not so popular but still quite a loved car by the car community here. They are hard to come by even when the owner is willing to sell so i decided to get one from Japan.

The car is a dream buy for me as its been something I have been working towards from being a kid, importation of cars older than 7 years old is not allowed in my country unless certain reasons. Fortunately this car classifies as a "classic" and is available for importation with a special licence. Currently I have a street/track Honda civic type r with a swapped k20a and a host of mods to make it a great car around our tracks.

Now i finally get my RWD boosted JDM classic and im buzzing. I dont know what the plans are yet but it will be street track oriented with balance and reliability being my main concerns. Lots of windy roads around me so big peaky turbo applications arent really what im after. Hoping to get some good advice as the build goes on as im always welcome to critiques and new ideas.

Ok on to the car

The mods list according to the auction sheet and what we can see so far is

HKS F-CON.
Final S Forged 17 AW (no clue what this is )
Aluminum radiator.
Momo stearing.
Aragosta suspension.
Defi triple meter+control.
wide body Front fender with duct
HKS piping intake piping.
HKS exhaust
Sparco full bucket seat.

If any one can figure out what rims those are ( i think they are gram lights) and what body kit this is i would be most appreciated (also if there is any thing else you see that i missed please feel free to mention it). If there is anything that i should get for this car before hand that would be a good adition to the parts currently there im welcome to hearing it.
Car is being shipped this week and should reach here in about 6 weeks. Based on that time line i figure I wont get it off from customs till the new year because of the holiday rush on the wharf with goods coming in and lots of back logs.

Below is a picture of my Civic type r that I mentioned earlier. Took me 4 years to build this and im contemplating just cashing in on this and just concentrating on the FD. But I must admit i really love my EK9

Looking forward to sharing and learning from everyone and really cant wait to get my hands on the car. The auction sheet says its a type r Bathrust been searching with not much luck to figure out what that even means. A little assistance would be appreciated in that regard. Updates soon

Cheers to all

Haha. I'm Guyanese. To answer your question, the front bumper is a Cwest bumper. One of the early aftermarket bumpers for the FD. I can't see the side skirts clearly though.

There is another dude that has a silver FD that is from JA. I forgot his username though

Edit. Your side skirts are also Cwest

So it began. First things that i got were some of the the exterior parts. Got the spoiler, diffuser, oem fenders and bonnet first

got the spoiler from a member in here who shipped it to me all the way From Pakistan. I am not a fan of the "whale spoiler" and when this option came to me attention i had to have it. The car came with some modified Cwest side skirts that were pretty beat up and some very wide 30 mm DMAX front fenders. The previous owner clearly liked goind side ways as he or she had the 9.5 inch 255 wheels on the front of the car and 8.5 225 wheels at the back. So i had to quickly fix all of that while installing the exterior parts

Before all of that it was time to clean up and .

here is what she looks like after trying to clean up

right here the car has the front tyres at the back and the back tyres at the front!! She was quite tail happy !!

here is an egine bay shot

Still cant understand how the Previous owner only had wide fenders for the front and nothing for the rear. Looked so awkward. Anyway it was time to fix that abomination

off with the old!!

on with the new!!

and tyres swapped around!!

I ordered some 99 side skirts from SHINE auto but a local friend of mine had some mazda speed skirts put up and i basically jumped on them. They were basically free and the side skirts have yet to arrive due to shipping. So i got them sprayed along with the front of the car.

Looking good. One opinion though, get rid of the chrome front turn signals. Get either OEM or oem looking ones.

18 x 9.5 ssr Type c rims
Kevlar Bride seat
hks Sequential BOC

Love seeing another fellow Jamaican with a 7! I was just down at Vernam field a month or so ago and saw a blue FD with what sounded like a 20B. Keep up the good work, the car looks great!!
