Attachment 615802

Attachment 615803

Just finished the Ohlins install, next plan is to redo the rest of the suspension, finish interior and alarm. Mount the Work Meisters when they come in. I'm waiting on the seats to be redone and have the Greddy Vmount kit, Sakebomb HID's, door handle on order. Still need to order a carbon oem lip, feed style sideskirts, rear diffuser from shine and a 99 spec wing with the carbon fiber insert.

I like cars that have a bit of everything done, but are not over done so they are still enjoyable, that is the goal for this and hoping to have this car done by spring time funds and time permitting.

That's a pretty cool old-school SMIC setup. The intake is RE Amemiya. Good luck with the build.

Good luck with your build. I'm across the bridge in NJ

This build is awesome! I have always wanted a white FD with Red Recaros! That Porsche and M3 look awesome!

GoodfellaFD3S 04-30-16 06:13 AM

Car's coming along awesome :icon_tup:

Those seats just look stunning. I saw them in person last time I was at ESH and they inspired me to go searching for my own Spirit R seats to have some Edwards Bros loving' worked on them :D

If you're on the hunt for some different (non-chrome) combo lights for the front bumper let me know, I have a few pair squirreled away in my collection :)

DaleClark 04-30-16 09:05 PM

Very nice, the wheels look amazing on the car! When you say you had them re-barrelled, were they made wider or what changed? Who did the work?

I have 3-piece wheels on my car that need another round of refurbishment :).

Dale

rxhead 05-01-16 08:12 PM

Nice build quality parts. But why you wearing those clean 95's whilst working on the car? Lol

I had them made smaller, because these came off a widebody car. The work was done by VR Wheels WebStore, Presented By VR Motoring . New forged lips were about $200 a lip plus shipping there and back.

Received the sakebomb hid kit last month and the greddy vmount kit is finally coming today, install all that, have powerfc tuned by john renna. Also the recaros and the upgraded interior door handle.

7_rocket 07-05-16 02:27 PM

Very nice. I would go back to black plastic lip. Once you scrape that lip, the white paint will come off and will look like crap.

ZoomZoom 07-05-16 03:30 PM

The white ones look so good because of the black accents.

04G35S 07-06-16 08:21 PM

In my personal opinion the painted lip only works if you have the OEM side skirts to keep the lines going. The front lip looks a bit out of place to me.

It never looks as good painted as it does in natural unpainted finish.
They're meant to scrape on the ground and flex, which makes paint look like crap.
Car's still sexy AF, tho.

Took the car to IRP and had them add a new Walbro pump, an HKS twinpower and John Renna tuned it on the powerfc.

Car made great power for stock twins.

366/339 but the best part about a working sequantial system is the almost 300ft of torque at 2700rpm.

The other red line in the 4s is for a set of BNR's they did on another car for comparison

7_rocket 01-08-17 12:21 PM

Where did you get the Recaro`s? What model head unit is the Alpine?

Looking good. Do you know when you plan on having everything done in the interior?

I'm looking for ways to have a rattle free interior to and will be interested to see how your adventures goes.

THE TECH 07-12-17 11:58 AM

Car looks great. Very similar to how mine will likely look.

I'll make sure to take pics, I'm finishing up the dynomat stuff now, I did something similar when I went through my vert and the difference in comfort and quiet was big.

Agreed. If painting the lip there has to be sideskirts to go with it. Otherwise, leave it black and add the feed style sideskirts as he ended up doing.

Great build so far! Your giving me some ideas on what to do with my white FD haha

arkady151 08-08-17 12:32 PM

I used plastic weld on anything that was broken or cracked and was salvageable.

http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...68842379DF.jpg

Bought some cheap felt tape from Amazon and added it to all the panels I put back.

http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...3C352FCD99.jpg

Replaced all the old crusty clips with new ones.
http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...88BFD6838B.jpg

Added more under carpet insulation under the bins and the floor

http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...684CC1C047.jpg

http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...0553B1A2E5.jpg

http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s...6EDD2B4756.jpg

Most of my interior rattling came from the middle section where the rear bins are, figured I'd go all out there, biggest pain is that most of the attachment points on my rear bins are broken so figuring now how to redo those.

7_rocket 08-08-17 02:31 PM

Adding felt tape is smart.

Yeah I'm putting felt where ever I can, I did it to an fc years ago and it made a noticeable difference.

Hope to have it finished by the end of the month, progress has been slow as the x5m is being replaced by the new daily and needs to be de-modded and posted for sale.
