Merry Christmas to you all.

Not too much of an update since last posted.

Engine bay is waiting to get sprayed... mean while, I have taken all the parts (alternator, PS pump/mounts, UIM, LIM) etc and am tiding them up!

Over the years they have had plenty of grease etc... I'm going for a stealth look so I have decided to paint most things black with a touch of red.

Also managed to start cleaning up the wiring harness. Cleaned up all the grease and ugly bits. Re wrapped them in tap and covered them. Also tried to clean up the plugs as much as possible

Thought I would post an update on whats happening with my FD (yay... not).

So, end of December, I took my car to a mechanic to take my motor out to get rebuilt by Extreme Rotaries. The motor was taken out and the motor was completely build from head to toe in weeks. I delivered my motor back to my Mechanic in Jan, and unfortunately this is how it currently sits.

With a few delays in the process with tidying up some parts in the engine bay, i've now decided to take the car back over the Christmas break. I'll be doing a few things here and there such as replacing bushes and some parts to get her nice and tidy and in the new year will be taking to either Maztech / Rank rotary to get the engine put in.

In the mean time... a few goodies that arrived whilst it's been off the road.

My Favorite!
Brand new Work XD9 Rims in Bronze.
Front: 18x9 + 38
Rear: 18x10 + 10

Will cover these in Nitto NT05 Semi Slick tyres soon enough.

Update: So over the past few days I have been spending some time on bringing back a bit of life back in some of my interior parts. Some of my pieces had a few fade spots so I purchased a mothers product to rejuvenate plastic. After much patience and many coats, they are starting to come out quiet nice. I put some heavily coats towards to end to give it more of a wet look.

I didn't even think to take a before photo.

Update

Thought I would post a bit of an update on my FD.

The engine is finally in and running. The motor is getting pretty much in the engine bay, just sorting some of the electrical gremlins out.

I've left it as the twin turbo setup to run the motor in and get the car back on the road. Once i've done that, the single turbo will get done!

The car as it sits right now in the garage... all alone!

These are 18x10 +18 on the rear. The front sit very nicely, the back do come out a little to cover the whole guard which is what I was going for. These will be covered with NT05 Nitto Semi Slicks soon enough.

Did some cleaning up in the interior since its been out for so long. Still not finished, few things left to clean up in the interior. Need to install my Bride Seats as well

Installed my 3x52mm Autometer gauges in the dash speaker! They look great in my opinion and go very well with all the other interior lighting

Next on the list:
Trying to find a few more parts to put the car back on the road officially. Then I will run the motor in. Very soon, I will begin the single turbo conversion and get some serious power!

Update: After 4 years the car has been off the road, it is finally back! So excited!

I decided to change out the seats today to my Bride seats that have been sitting for the last 1.5 years!

Ripped out the seats and decided to clean the carpet! Finally got the first seat in. I accidentally mixed up the rails and put them on the wrong side but fixed that!

Both seats in

I need to give the interior a good detail before I start hitting the road! Now i'm going to focus on running the motor in and getting it ready for the Single Turbo and last exterior mods etc.

Very nice project bud

Love the paint colour looks epic. Was it a custom mix?

Hows the availability of aftermarket stuff for the FD over in Aus?

Those bride seats are a nice touch with the white paint br keep up the good work

Thanks man The paint is actually taken from the Subaru STI with a slight twist to the pearl.

Parts are not too bad, depending on what you want. FD's are quite rare here so cost can be high.

Wow, your build up looks great! Respect to all that work.

Where did you buy your Carbon Fibre parts?

I just bought my 3rd FD3S last week from Japan and it is pretty much JDM but I want to add many carbon fibre parts to it. Maybe you can help me with that...

So I tackled a clunk that my FD was having at the front. Found the upper control arm on my driver side was a little loose so purchased some superpro bushes and installed them. Took the car for a test drive and took some pics. While changing the bushes, I adjusted the height of the front slightly... thinking I may need to lower the back a little more too... just don't want to go too low and get in trouble...

New Exhaust Update

So over the weekend I decided to get my exhaust done. I had a Greddy Dump pipe with SMB mid section but a stock cat back. So took it to a local exhaust shop. Decided to go down the path of keeping the twin tip setup in 3 inch as its nice and clean in my opinion. Few hours later and this is the result... *diffuser removed*

I am very pleased with the look and sounds amazing. It is a quite loud though... i'll keep it as it is for the time being... here are 2 quick videos of the sound... I currently have a 4k rev limiter as I am still running in my motor...

The little things...

Until the engine is run in getting ready for some big power, I am sorting out some of the smaller things...

Purchased some new Wheel nuts in red to go with the theme. Car is also getting tinted shortly...

With only 300kms left on the rebuild to run the motor in, I am slowly prepping the car for the single turbo.

Ordered more final parts:
- 45mm Turbosmart Wastegate
- Turbosmart Fuel Reg
- Walbro 460lhp in tank E85 pump
- 2x 2000cc Bosch ID injectors
- Boost controller

Final thing I want to do before I start the conversion is prep the manifold and dump pipe and wrap them in head shield/wrap after I get my wastegate welded up. Hoping to start the conversion late Feb

Re-cap on engine mods and power goal
- T04z with 1.0 A/R - 20/25psi
- 3.5 dump pipe – heat wrapped
- Turbosmart 45mm Wastegate 14 psi Spring
- Turbosmart 1200 Fuel Pressure Regulator
- Walbro 460lph E85 in tank fuel pump
- Boost Controller
- 4x 2000cc Bosch ID injectors
- Proflow Primary and Secondary fuel rails with dash fittings
- PFC
- HKS Twin Power Ignition
- 3 Bar Map Sensor
- Full custom 3/3.5 inch exhaust
- Koyo Radiator
- Greddy Front Mount Intercooler
- Extreme Rotaries Pulley Kit
- E85
- ACT Clutch
- Large Extend Port
- Mt 2mm Race Seals
- Dowelled (8 extra studs)
- Balanced / Cleared
- Housing nitrated
- S5 Rotors
- New Bearings/seals etc

I'm sure there is heaps I forgot...

Power goal: 350rwkw+ on 20+psi running E85

I will keep you all posted.

Thanks,
