Hello, my name is Jürgen and I live in Germany.
I bought my Mazda RX7 in 2007 after passing my master craftsman's examination in motor vehicle mechanics. I have modified it over many years, some modifications were useful, some were not.
After an engine failure due to excessive boost pressure, I overhauled my engine in 2013. During the conversion, I installed used BNR Stage3 turbochargers that had already been converted to non-sequential. Unfortunately, I never managed to get the turbochargers to run properly. But I also didn't have much time, as my wife then came with the happy surprise that we would soon be having a child. At this point, I took over a car dealership and bought a house. My priorities were just completely different.
Luckily, I never managed to bring myself to sell my RX7, I often thought about it. In 2022, my son asked me why we never actually drive my yellow racing car? And I asked myself why not!
I registered it and did some major maintenance with tires etc. first.
And me and my son had one of the best summers together. Unfortunately, the turbocharger problems were still there, but they hardly bothered me as it was only at full load and I was driving very quietly with my son anyway.
But you soon realized that we no longer had a 2010. People felt disturbed by the loud car. They used to admire it, but now they just shake their heads. And so it wasn't long before the police shut us down.
As everything has to be registered very strictly in Germany, I decided to rebuild my RX7. But this time properly OEM+!
I ordered the Turboscource/Turboblown kit with EFR7670, which has finally arrived after almost two years of waiting. The only thing missing now is my heat shield for the turbocharger, which was unfortunately forgotten.
I have replaced my lowered GRP bumpers and side skirts with 99spec and the suspension with Öhlins. The rims also had to go, unfortunately two rims had a knock and it was planned to go to 18” anyway.
The air conditioning system was also returned to the car, which makes you wonder why you had to remove it for the sake of performance. Fortunately, there is JP3 with their kits.
Unfortunately, I had to remove my FMIC as it can no longer be registered in Germany. I hope to get the SMIC from PWR with Autoexe Intake soon.
I actually chose Haltech as my engine control unit, but then I found FC Tweak from Xavier by chance. Now I'm giving the Apexi another chance. Even though my OLED display has just broken. When I tried to solder in a new display, I unfortunately tore out the conductors. I'll probably get the Commander from FC Tweak now.
As soon as the heat shield from Turboscorce arrives, I will post my single turbo conversion here and hopefully get a lot of help with questions.
Best regards Jürgen
At this day, Police say NO! best time in my life.. raceseat
I don't know the weather in Germany but I have to say that radiator is no good. Theres still time to buy the koyo. The mishimoto just does not work in warmer climates. Here in Florida, it only maintains temps when it's not "summer"..... which is all the time
Hello, in Germany we have an average summer temperature of just 23 degrees Celsius / 73 degrees Fahrenheit.
I think that should be enough. But if not, I'll keep your words in mind.
