^Sure thing, though it'll be a couple months until I get the chance.

Copeland 02-10-14 10:06 AM

Everything looks great, any further progress?

Rxmfn7 02-10-14 09:03 PM

Nothing picture-wise to show for right now. Drivetrain has been installed for the final time (hopefully..). Intake fab is getting finished up. Ill hit up Logan see if I can get some pictures of the progress. Hopefully still on track for early spring completion of the drivetrain.

Some photo updates. Received pictures of the engine mounting setup. Also mounting of the coils. So engine is in and accessories are starting to get place. Hopefully not too much longer until brap brap time :D

Looking good Lenny. You are a man of patience my friend but the results will be really nice.

Rxmfn7 02-16-14 02:39 PM

Thanks David, and yea its been a patience-testing road for sure. But nothing worth having comes easy, so they say. Or at least I keep telling myself. Perhaps Ill see you this year at DGRR.

kylemo 02-16-14 02:57 PM

Just read through the entire build. Amazing. It's coming along nicely, will be more than an impressive car when it completed. Love to see N/A engine, always see big boost with numbers but there's something to be said for that amazing sound and high rpm making same power as turbo'd cars. Can't wait to see the finish!!!

papsmagu 02-17-14 06:58 AM

nice....what coils are those, AEM? Also, sorry if i missed it but what EMS are you running

Rxmfn7 02-17-14 08:25 AM

^Thanks! ECU is an electromotive Tec3r, and coils are electromotive inductive coils.

Currently waiting on some updates and pictures from Logan. Hopefully by the end of the weekend Ill have some nice pictures to share :) In the meantime thought Id at least show some of the exterior pieces I have waiting to go on. I never wanted to stray too far from a stock body FD as I truly believe its about perfection.. but I have always liked some of the more subtle pieces that add some aggressiveness to the car. So I have a set of OEM urethane 99 sideskirts, a FEED hood as well as a FEED spoiler. Not sure if all of these things will happen this summer or not, depends if I have the funds to have the whole car done at the same time, as well as what the timeframe is the body shop can have it done. I actually want to enjoy the car when I get it back from Defined and not just transport it to another shop for months on end.

Logan was kind enough to take a few pics of the progress and intake manifold is just about complete. I must say I think it looks killer :D

Pretty damn nice. Excellent work.

t-von 03-25-14 06:58 AM

Yes it is. I'll tell ya, each of Logan's NA projects always has some unique looking eye candy. I love seeing all these different intake designs. You have a time frame when Logan may be firing it up?

Rxmfn7 03-25-14 08:30 AM

Thanks David! And t-von it should be pretty soon, I know he's working on it pretty aggressively now. There were some small hang ups in the intake fab. As you can see since the engine is tucked under the firewall slightly it had to snake a bit forward, and with the slide throttle he ran into clearance issues with the old waterpump. So he switched back to a Cosmo pump. There is still a good bit of odds and ends to button up, dry sump and oiling system needs plumbed , etc.. But I'd be looking for her to make some noise within a couple weeks :D

t-von 03-25-14 12:32 PM

^ Yea moving it back is a pain in the ass but it's 100% worth it when it's finished. :)

Narfle 03-25-14 01:32 PM

Super sick. I want first right of refusal.

Rxmfn7 03-26-14 12:25 AM

^ Not going to lie, had to Google what the hell you were talking about :p:

Fd3BOOST 03-26-14 08:05 AM

I've just read through the whole thread. This is really coming together well. You've got great taste. Where did you get the brake ducts? I assume made you made them? More pics!

RENESISFD 03-26-14 09:34 AM

You need another coupling to allow for flex on that upper radiator tube.

Rxmfn7 03-26-14 11:18 AM

Yep, you are correct. Another one is being added to the section heading straight into the pump.

Yeah Lenny forgot to mention a secondary coupler is being added. I don't have the coupler yet, so wanted to get it all routed to save time. Also make the air-separated tank etc.

Also the intake is not finished yet, some may notice the built up weld beads in some areas. That was to make the most perfect inside airflow transitions. It will be getting smoothed and look really nice when done. Downside to 1/16 thick tubing, can't make complex transitions easily.

Working on the dry sump mounting and alternator bracket now.

papsmagu 03-26-14 02:58 PM

looks great.....sweet set up.

what do you plan on using for the velocity stack filters/mesh screens? i have a similar build and need to find a mesh screen that will fit over the top of my velocity stack. your velocity stacks look to be the same size as mine?

Rxmfn7 03-26-14 04:21 PM

I'm not sure what, if anything Logan had planned. Me personally, I'm not a huge fan of the screen mesh. It doesn't provide proper filtration. I was planning on fabricating a filter box using a large filter surrounding all 3 venturis. Also kicking around using the "socks" over them , but word from a few friends who have itb setups (Hondas) say they are usually restrictive. But we'll see as I'll probably try a few different things. I'm sure Logan may chime in with his thoughts, and I know he had used those screen mesh filters in other projects so I'm sure he can lead you to where to source those.
