Keep it up. This is an interesting build for me and for others as well. It's nice to do something and learn as you go. That's what I do, sure it takes me longer than some but I love learning new skills and i save a ton of money.

Thanks silver. I agree, learning to do it yourself pays dividends in the future as opposed to paying someone else to do it (not to mention it saves a ton of money ). The build time depresses me as well but I'm thinking 7 to 10 years for everything to be done and I fully expect to drop 60k+ by the time it's all said and done. I'm hoping more in the 3 to 5 year range to have it running and drivable. Interior and aesthetics are going to be a big cost that prolong the completion time.
I haven't had much free time over the last few months but I've been slowly making progress. The cage is 90% complete so now I'll have something to build my 4 link and rear end off of, along with the cross member I added. We just bought a new house and we're moving in June to Calvert County so I'll probably be MIA again for a bit. As soon as I've settled in I should be able to get the rear end completed fairly quickly. I'll be ordering the coilovers within the next month or so. Until next time!
It's been ages since I posted last and a bit disheartening to see how little progress I've made in 7 years (LOL!). Oh well, a few pictures with updates. I'm in this for the long haul and will be driving it one day. I went ahead and did a full back-half to fit the 9" rear as well as an 8 point cage. Powder coated most of the rear-end and springs. Used POR-15 on the back-half and covered it up with their black topcoat (not pictured). I did a full internal refresh on the steering rack and touched up the exterior with a touch of powder coat. I've installed the Ronin LS swap subframe and have their bumpsteer kit and pedestals to install at some point as well. Finally, I'm in process of refreshing all of the front suspension parts where new ones were not available, including fresh undercoat in the wheel wells. I bought new upper control arms but lower control arms were impossible to come buy. So instead cleaned them up, installed new powerflex bushings and went with a replacable ball joint kit that is FINALLY available for these things. While expensive, and some slight custom work is necessary, this will be really nice in the future for regreasing or repairing as needed. They're manufactured by a place called CCFabLab and they were relatively easy to install. I'm in process on picking out coilovers and should have the front suspension back in the car in the next few months.
Curious about the spacers on the steering rack. Part of the Ronin kit? Work look great. Keep pushing!
Yep, those are for their bump steer kit. They are effectively shims that will allow the rack to be relocated higher relative to the engine you're swapping (if not using the factory rotor).
