'92 JDM Type X

Picked up another FD yesterday, so thought I'd start a separate thread for it .

The car is a Feb 1992 JDM Type X that has covered about 60k. Being a type X it has the Bose sound system, climate control, cruise control, leather seats, sunroof etc.
It has been off the road for a long time, needs a new engine and general restoration. The cool thing about this car is it has all the original bits that make it a type X, so it'll be a fun restoration job of restoring the bits that are there, keeping as many original bits in use as possible.

The bodywork is strait with possibly the best panel gaps I've seen on an FD. The interior needs work, the leathers need restoring and there is a tear on the drivers seat. The interior plastics are also red....That definitely needs to be fixed .

I've got a pile of bits to go on, I'll take some better pictures of the condition soon, but all in all I'm pretty happy with it and it should keep my busy next year .

Nice! It will be interesting seeing all the JDM electronic stuff - the climate control and whatnot.

Good luck with the project!

Cheers Dale, I'm looking forward to getting stuck into it now the other project is coming to an end .

The only type x bits that are missing are the yellow fogs and the thick shagpile like mats, both of which a friend of mine has spare, so got lucky there. I'll drop the tank and subframes to give it a good clean and paint the underside over the winter. Make the most of all the extra access I've got while the engine, box and ppf etc are all out. For a 1992 car the underside is in excellent condition, no signs of rust etc.
