Finally pulled the trigger in February '24 and got myself a new set of HKS Hipermax S coilovers after feeling them on my buddy's mkiv. They ride really nice and handle decently well. I'll say the car doesn't handle like my Evo VIII did was it's definitely getting closer.

These Ohlins were 20+ years old, didn't even want to mess with them anymore although no leaks or anything loose.

Couldn't get the passenger front strut to fit in no matter what I did..

Resorted to this random 2x4 of all things to convince it in!

Nice and snug

Moved into the interior, after I had removed the gauges and wiring, this thing was just an eye sore. I though about filling it with a boost gauge or AFR gauge, but since I have a Power FC, I'll leverage that and ditch this thing.

Back to the factory look with a new speaker grill. $70 for a piece of plastic!

The seller I bought the car from had promised me sideskirts but never shipped them out until over a year later. Good on him to hold up his word! Carbon Fiber new skirts.

Going to try and plastidip these things black satin since I do plan on doing that to the front lip. If I hate it, I can always peel it off.

Took a pic after a cruise with my buddy's RHD mkiv with the old suspension and wheels.
\\

Old wheels (which I know many of you love) I just didn't like from the beginning.
\

New Kenda and Federal (not pictured) tires for the new wheels!

Doing some test fitting the new wheels and tires with black lug nuts and dry fitting the side skirts. The Amazon lugs scratch so easily!

Realized why my DRL have never worked .

A few quick led swaps into the brake lights as well!

LED DRLs working again!

Now time to drive this thing!

Love the update. I'm looking at the same coilovers. I've got some ancient Ohlins as well
