I bought an OEM cd player from him, and when I received it, it was shipped without a box, and just wrapped with paper/foam. As flaky as these CD players are it should have been obvious to package it better.

After installing it in my car, I noticed that it was broken and didn't play CDs, so I just spent 55 dollars on a broken CD player, and wasted my time installing it.

He wants me to take MORE time to take it back out of my car, and then take MORE time/money to send a broken CD player back to him, before he "gives me a refund" when it would have absolutely no positive impact for him to make me do so. I don't trust him to give me a refund, and it just isn't worth my time to do so.

The guy has terrible communication, and I wouldn't buy anything from him again.

That sucks about the CD player. FWIW I did receive the ashtray I bought from him, and it was in good condition as described. Definitely poor communication, though.
