Ripped Off by ballinnmiami240sx Danny Domenech RespecGarage

I've been a member of this forum for over 15 years. Over that time I have sold and bought from many trustworthy sellers. When you make a purchase on the forum, you trust that the members are honest and will do the right thing and many times it works out great for everyone but this is not the case with ballinnmiami240sx.

I purchased a PFC from ballinnmiami240sx for $550 shipped. I install it and starts right up and idles but it will not turn on the fans. Car started overheating after install. I put back in the stock ECU and fans come on. I re-initialized it to factory settings, still no good. I asked another forum member if I can test with his PFC in my car and all works well. So in the end the PFC that I bought from ballinnmiami240sx is defective.

I figure I would let him know and he would refund my money. I was shocked at his response.

He responded ".....Unfortunately, im not willing to refund you money..... Maybe you can sale it to someone else and get your money back.

He is suggesting for me to sell a known defective PFC to another person. Just by this statement I know he sold me a known defective PFC and does not care.

Fellow forum members, please be very careful if you have any transactions with him. I didn't ask for a pic of the PFC but it was beat up with dents on the case. Once I saw the condition I knew it was not taken care of, but as long as it worked I would have been OK. So now I have a non working PFC, I'm out $550 and seller will not refund the money, he would rather me sell the unit to someone else.

All I am asking for is my money back. I will pay the shipping back to him. Again, the PFC will start and drive but fans will not turn on.

I'm having an issue where the fans are not turning on with the PFC. I swapped back to the stock ECU and the fans come on normally. I am going to check with another power FC but thought I should let you know.
I'll keep you updated on the issue. Any ideas on what it might be? When did Ray tune the car?

ray tuned that ecu about 1.5yrs ago. My fans where wired to a switch but this was due to being a track rat. Fans did work on the pfc. Might be a setting on the pfc or the way the car is wired to the pfc. Im not sure. Check with the PFC threads I think there is info on there.

Since your last message I checked everything with my car. All is good. I found a forum member locally that was willing to let me try his PFC, his PFC in my car all works perfectly fine. Fans come on as usual.
I then asked him to test the PFC I bought from you in his car and the fans are not coming on. I'm not sure what else to try at this point.
The reason you did not know was because your fans were wired directly as you mentioned. The PFC is defective. Maybe someone else can use it that have their fans wired directly? I'm really sorry, I have checked everything and it's definitely the PFC bro. I would you to refund the money please. Let me know.

Lousy. I generally stay away from used electronics but this is still wrong. How did you pay for it?

I paid by paypal via my checking account but it's too late to claim anything. When I bought the PFC the car was in storage then checking my car out and then waiting for someone to test it for me in their car took a while so I cannot claim via paypal anymore.
