Thumbs down Auto-Tech Two Thumbs down

Dude my home boy got his car back from auto tech and this is what he found more then a half *** job!!!

Fuel line for boost line

Boo boo welds on the turbo exhust mani with holes in it

No gasket between the down pipe and turbo flange

down pipe has bad ugly welds holes and has skinny flanges on it

Not one grade 8 bolt for the heat application since it is a turbo

We took off the heat wrap and found the down pipe was cracked!!!!

doubled layered nuts on the waste gate

fuel line used as a oil return line

washer hose from home depot used as oil feed line

the list goes on and on

vacumes were not covered up or plugged motor mounts are lose

roll cage was put in and not bolted down tight

They suck, workers suck, and the shop as a whole sucks!!! :smiley_12

There good engineers but there terrible fabricators there is a difference. Motors they could build all day with no problems, but when it comes to fabbing sum thing up and welding it together they suck. Motor swaps are a sinch all day there is no modding work to be done. But take a look at thee work when they start doing intercooler piping, custome motor mounts, down pipes like the one above, turbo exhaust mani's there work does not represent the shop at all. If you go to the shop good luck and beware custome work is a no no for these guys.

We plan on going tomarrow and raising hell.

the kids name is eric, over looking the car and me and my bro redoing the down pipe we noticed the stuff he paid for that is on the car does not represent or match the stuff on the car at all.

He bought cross drilled slotted rotors only got drilled!

Greddy down pipe got some home made ****!

Greddy exhuast mani got some more home made ****!

Hks wastegate got and ebay special HKS knock off!

Fuel lines for boost lines

Had them bore the fuel injectors out to 1600's plus got stocks that were just cleaned. We know this cause we sent them out to RC!

Look at the ******* gasket that seals the turbo to the mani. It looks like someone's crusty *** draws ironed out with a lot of starch and then they cut a ******* hole out. Wow!! Them :smiley_12 :smiley_12 :smiley_12

Greddy inter cooler piping got some hacked up bullshit pipes that were lying around the shop.

Inter cooler piping that is running fromt the tubo to the intercooler is NOT aluminum it's regular steel with the welds grinded down. You tell me.

Right now there doing a 20B swap into a red third gen fucked up welds fucked up motor mounts homedepot special metal with the bar codes and **** still on them i mean there work is crapy!!!

Some mexican guy works there with a doyie jeff is the owner alvin got fired or he left some lady and young kid work inside on the computer all day.

all i have to say to those pics is holy ****.

were those gaskets ever run? if so how long were they on the car for?

and holy **** those welds look like they were done by a 100 year old blind man.

i mean my downpipe cracked but it had been on the car for some time and it had a minor defect in design. the revision of the dp resolved the problem completely.

I have been saying this same thing about Autotech for about four years now. They did a reman engine swap on my buddies FD and completly F*&%ed his car up. They re-built his turbos which never ran right again, had overheating problems, leaking oil, etc etc. FOR ANYONE WHO READS THIS.... STAY AWAY FROM AUTOTECH

Do a search on the guy who had his subframe bent by them on a engine install.

Teddy- Thank you for posting such information regarding a local vendor here in San Diego
<<<<<please keep in mind that I have never dealt with or know anyone from AUTOTECH >>>>>>
I am glad that teddy is sharing his personal experience with the shop in question, Letting the public know and informing us consumers on a certain work which was performed by shop XYZ,
In this particular case I believe the pictures speak for themselves, However we need to understand at the same time this is not an attempt to simple bad mouth a local vendor here in San Diego.

Crappy results and poor customer service(LEGIT CASES with pictures) needs to be share and brought in to the light. I truly hope that this is not their best work and or a routine way of practicing business in the automotive industry.

To the guys @ Autotech, please take the above comments and feed back of your past or present customer service experience with a stride and make things right for the future. It's challenging enough to get your car setup correct to be able to enjoy the fruits of your labor. The last thing we as consumers need is having to deal with questionable Vendors.
You guys have made recent efforts in order to change and win back the confidence of the public and I applaud you guys for doing so.

best of luck!!!

take a look at the date on the first post, it was posted back on the 1st of Jan 2007 I only brought this back after the fact of them saying the comments they said, and the fact that people need to know how certain work is being handled or was handled nothing more...

And this was not a personal experience of me bringing my car there it was a friend who brought his FD there before he had met me, and allowed my brother and myself to work on his car...
