WI under no load - bad idea?

I've go ta coolingmist kit i'm currently in the middle of installing.
I've mainly got it as one of the tracks i frequent is a short 'sprint' circuit, and the format involved going out, running for 3 laps, then queuing up for another go.

The first few times it's fine, but after a while heatsoak starts to kick in when queing. The idea wih the coolingmist is to drop the temps nice and quickly on the first lap/bit of lap.

I've go tthe boost activated switch, but while i was busy wiring up i started thinking - is it a silly idea to put a non latching switch in parallel with the boost switch? So when queueing, just before going out for my session, i could say, rev the car to 4k for about 5s and give it a burst of water on demand, to give the temps a helping hand?
Silly idea?
Your thoughts please
Si

I don't think you need to go as far as revving it. I think with a low enough squirt, depnding on your nozzle, you could probably idle it fine. The problem with anything other than a full shot is getting the right signal voltage to it.

I was just thinking it may not have enough air flow to have much of an effect if it's just idling.
It's not a variable controller, it's just the boost switch activated one, so i can easily trigger it with a push to make non latching switch running parallel to the boost switch

If you're on and off, then I would definitely suggest having higher rpms to get it all to be taken up.

Sounds like you should concentrate on other things instead of a band-aid. If you have your air filter sucking air off your radiator, make an ambient air intake. Get a vented hood, heat shield your motor etc.

It ran cooler with a stock hood than it did with the RE:A AD9 I had on before So Nope, not going vented
Filter is a good point though - some shielding will be in order, but trying to stay with the WI - i guess no one has really tried it
It's only 4 solder joints, so i'll give it a go and report back
