Turnin the AI on and off ok?

Sooooo i want to install a W/M kit but one question that I have is do I have to run my W/M all the time? If i wanna turn it off am I going to end up with detonation unless i richen my fuel map? I can't switch between 2 maps on my PFC so I wanna know how that whole deal works before i decide to install. I assume I can set up a system that only comes on during high boost, thus setting leaner settings to work with the system, so I can just keep my boost down when I don't want to use it.

assuming you retune your setup to take advantage of the substantial benefits of AI you would not be able to turn it off without causing engine damage.

it would be possible to tune the higher boost sections of your map and just not run the engine into the higher boost AI segments. there are some real world problems w that strategy, if you were to get a boost spike w the AI off, perhaps goodby motor.

i have run my 100% meth Alkycontrol system for over a year and made a point never to turn it off. my new FJO AI system uses fuel injectors/solenoid valves and as such always maintains a pre injector pressure so it is ready to roll anytime i get into the delivery area on the map.

another consideration re high boost only AI would be my concern for lack of time to make a tuned transition from gas to gas/AI. i started blending a small amount of methanol around 6-7 psi so as to make the transition easier. good tuning is all about smoothing transitions from vacuum to boost, ignition and fuel.

that all said you could do it.... you would just have to be careful. all the time.

my question is what factors interest you in turning it off since it simply is dormant until asked to perform.
