Tank mounting location heat soak concern. Nozzle question as well.

Hello,

I am very close to purchasing the Snow Performance Stage 1 Boost kit. I will be running a 50/50 mix.

I have two concerns:

1) I want to mount the tank in my engine bay BUT the only place I will be able to fit the 3 QT tank is thr passenger corner on the firewall right above the turbo. My engine bay temps are pretty low considering all the heat shielding/heat scavanging I have added to keep the temperature low BUT it is still the engine bay which will get warmer then a rear hatch mounted tank . My concern is will the higher temps hinder the 50/50 mix performance......hotter mixture - less cooling effect?

2) I HAVE SEARCHED and have read many of Howards posts regarding nozzles BUT I have not found if there is a perferred nozzle position/angle in the intake tubing. I do remember coming across a post that stated the 4 o'clock position is the best nozzle position...is this true?

Anyway, the pic below with the red circle shows the only place where I can mount my nozzle due to my Greddy overboost valve( in the second pic, the first is better clarity but was before I mounted the pop-off valve). The green is the tank location (yes all electronics will be relocated along with a heat shield around the tank with an incorporated spill shield to keep harness dry). I will mount the pump close to the tank somewhere in the engine bay(undecided)

pop-off valve pic

Now if I can not find room for the pump I will most likely run the tank/pump in the rear hatch. I dont want to do that because concerns of pressure drop but I may just be parinoid.

Thanks for your time.

hello...............................?

Alright how about this, 1 or 2 nozzles? Single nozzle would be 375cc/min while the dual set up would be 2 175cc/min. Small nozzles would atomize better correct?

One preturbo and one in the elbow.

Move your new battery to the back of the car and put the pump and tank in it's place.

Thank you Barry for your advice.

I just got done searching and reading for about 2 hours on everything from pre-turbo, nozzle location/sizes, 50/50 vs H20, pre-filter, no IC vs IC with AI, ect......my head hurts

What I have decided to do is I am going to run a 2 nozzle set up post-turbo imediately after my Greddy pop off valve. The nozzles are going to be 175ml/min each due to better atomization at pump pressure compared to 1 375ml/min nozzle.

After reading numerous threads in regards pre-turbo injection I am comforted that since I have a huge Greddy front mount that post-turbo is the best route(couple of rotarygod's post help assure this). I would like to mount the nozzles immediately after the IC but in case I ever over-boost my WI- 50/50 mix will be vented from my Greddy pop-off valve SO mounting immediately after is the only option.

I read in one of Barry's threads that nozzle location for 2 should be at 3 and 6 o'clock so that is my decision.

Since my boost pressure is only 15 psi, maybe max 18, i am hoping that 350ml/min combined nozzle flow should suffice. Power output I estimate to be around 380-400 rwhp.

Any other input/constructive criticism is WELCOME....do not hold back.

Again my goal was originally knock suppresion but since 50/50 mix has the best of both worlds..it seems the best choice.
