Mixing water with methyl hydrate

Since I've ran out of standard blue -40 windsheild washer I went to Canadain tire and mixed Methyle hydrate with water. 99.9% pure. Anyhow it turned warm to the touch. Is this normal?

My guess is this the same stuff they use in windsheild washer fluid?

You really seem to be hung up on windsheild washer fluid, huh? You can use other
alcohols to mix with water ,doesn't have to be methanol. Denatured alcohol is one, basically ethanol made toxic so you can't drink it.You can get it at home depot etc and I'm guessing much cheaper then the washer mix at crappy tire.

I'm bent on that stuff because my car was tuned with the blue windsheild fluid 40 methanol.

Just trying to mix something so that I don't have to redo the car's tune.
