Methanol Ethanol alcohol and mixes

I don't know if this has been covered before I couldn't find it in some basic searches.

With regard to AI whats the difference between Methonol, Ethonol, Alcohol and mixes of these with water?

Also could E85 be used for AI?

Thanks,

The difference is really personal preference at this point. I have my reasons that I firmly believe in for NOT running 50/50 mixes of water and alchy/meth, and that is because I can inject FAR more injectant to make up and exceed the cooling of water and I dont have to beef up my ignition system to light the mix..

I mean, I did make 490 wheel on stock Mazda coils...

E85 does sound like a possibility, octane of around 105-110

From what i understand Methanol (wood alcohol) is better for motorsports and you can't drink it. Ethanol (grain alcohol) is more mainstream ergo: E85. and yes, it does have a rediculous octane rating- that said they haven't worked all the bugs out. my .02c

sometime during the next week i will put together a scientific properties comparison between the various AI injectants so we can have a more meaningful helpful discussion.

you will like it. it will be fun. it will probably eliminate about a thousand useless posts.
