Will this work, I know petrol doesn't normally like to mix with water but what about E85?

There is a local E85 pump real near by with E85 for under $3 per gallon, thats allot better than $35 per 5 gallons of methanol.

I pay $3/gal for my methanol, sounds like you are getting ripped off there. I would stick with meth too as its cooling properties are much better than ethanol, let along E85.

Thats what it costs where I live, its only available in 5 gallon bottles.

I have found out from some searching that E85 if mixed with water, the ethanol water separates from the petrol. So a mix of E85 with water is out.

Pure E85 may well work, ethanol is less corrosive than methanol, its the primary component of denatured alcohol. The question is if the 15% petrol would damage a shurflo pump?

And of course it would take out less latent heat than methanol or any alcohol water. Also it has an octane of 105.
