Cooling Mist DLX Stage 1 Kit which nozzle?
Cooling Mist DLX Stage 1 Kit which nozzle?
Sometime this spring I'll be looking to buy a kit but I'm confused on which nozzle size would best suit me.
I'm going to be running water only and my car will be running 550/720cc injectors on an Rtek 1.7
Mods will mostly be bolt-on's (Racing Beat Turboback, S4/S5 turbo P&P and/or up to a hybrid stage 2.
I'm using the water only for all the benefits (decarbonization, safety margin), power being the least of these.
On their website they have the kits rated up to XXX hp and they have the nozzles you can buy separately but they have them rated in cc's, so kind of confusing. I figure the car would make anywhere from 230-250hp?? maybe, so which size injector would work best?
I understand some basics here that 1 gal=63cc min and 1 gal for every 100 hp but these numbers don't jive with what they have listed.

I've had good success with my basic Coolingmist kit. Their nozzle sizing is a bit weird and has some gaps in steps compared to other kits. I'd say somewhere between 250cc-350cc is where you want to be depending on how much power you're willing to give up (assuming you're not tuning for water) for the extra safety/cleaning.
I'd probably order the CM3 nozzle and see how you like it.

I think either will be a great choice for what you're looking to do. For reference I've run their older 150psi pump and 350cc injector on my FD for years. Stock twins at 13psi and 850/850 injectors.
