Anyone with a Haltech use the "coolingmist" s-hsv without the varicool controller?

I know it can be done with my E8, but don't know if it's worth the hassle.
The "vari-cool" controller seems so convenient and easy to tune.
Has anyone else tried the s-hsv with the E8?
If so, what inputs and outputs did you use and why?
