I say the SM2's running around 2k and the SMC'c running around 1700, Does anyone know of some places cheaper than these prices?

I got mine from a junk yard for 500 (including shipping), then I paid my local Autronic tuner to test it, get me a new harness and manuals for 250 more.

so keep your eyes open and you could find one cheap

btw it was from a wrecked RX-7 and I was going to go into my VW 1990 GTI 16v until I got my 1985 GSL-SE

Group buy = Doubtful. Unlike other ECU's, Autronic is big on dealer support, setup and tuning.

Those with the v1.99 chipset. There is a software issue which will not allow you to Autotune. You will get an error " Tune Inhibited, Overrun Shutdown".

The reason for this is simple, although it took some time to get it figured out. The software is looking at injector output one and is looking for a duty cycle. In staged configuration, injector one is a secondary injector driver, so, there is no duty on this output at all until boosting, thus the software thinks that the ECU is in overrun shutdown and halts Autotune.

Ray Hall has let Richard know about this. He will be fixing the software, probably a new release version, as soon as he gets time to do so. He has been very busy with the SM4. We will be patient.

I guess we could flip the injector outputs and invet the injector trims to make injector one a primary injector, but I think I will wait.

Enzo,Rice Racing, have you encountered this, and if so, did you invert the outputs and trims?

BTW, listen to Enzo. He is correct about the staging. I cannot feel the transition at all. I was running 1,000cc on all four corners, but have since changed to 1,000cc in the primary and 1600cc inthe secondary and still have a flawless transition!

I have encountered the RAY HALL is the biggest **** of man I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with inthe car industry !

Every time a legitimate question gets asked he bans me of his forum. I will give yo the classic latest case of Ghestapo authoritarian "the sun shines out of my **** example"

One of my customers rang him to enquire about a high pressure map upgrade to a SM2 computer, the almighty Ray I am the god of Autronic said there is no such upgrade (despite being listed on the Autronic web site !) ........ STUPID **** even said the only way it gets achieved is by mofiying the internal tube to confuse the onbaord map sensor to thinking it is seeing one map pressure instead of the actual ! Upon calling a decent Autronic distributor we found out that aindeed a high pressure map sensor can be fitted and re calibrated to ready up to any boost pressure we desire.

I find the **** infuriating to deal with and when you have ANY questions that cant be answered or are not in agreement with him he gets very jealous and insecure and will simply not talk to you.....

Same goes for my quiries on why the 1.99 chip does not work, no responces not communications nothing....... same for Enzo, i am still to get any replies to my e-mails to him on ANYTHING.

Great computer, but **** people involved with it in some cases that lets it down, SM4 ???????? Dont get me started NO ONE HAS TRIALED IT PROPERLY from what I have found. They have allot of issues and glitches and very little communication to keep people inthe picture of what is going on unfortunatley which does nothign ot inspire confidence into others who want to use the new features or prodcuts.

SM2 V1.49 works, that about it as far as I am concerned and you can get a map upgrade to go over 40psi gauge pressure, everything else is a mystery at this stage.

Lots of spelling mistakes... sorry, but this man Ray Hall realy does suck *****. I feel for you people that he is the international distributor for Autronic & your only point of contact !

For the record i am getting custom made Autroinc SM2's that can read to 70 psi gauge boost pressure for both my own project and a mega powered Toyota Supra I am working on (No thanks to Ray Halls stupidity and lack of product knowledge !).

As for the SM4, trial it at your own risk .... so far as I cant put you in touch with any customers or vendors who have used it on a rotary as yet, oh and dont bother trying to ask a legitimate question ontheir forum because you will get baned !

What are you referring to as not working? The Autotune problem that I am having?

I did not find anything else that did not work.

Peter,

I do not have the hex errors, just the Autotune error. The Autotune error is due to the reason I described above.

I do not know when they plan to "fix the software". Hopefully soon.

But I will admit that I am a little upset about the v1.99 chip that I paid 200+ dollars for and it does not work properly.

Richard Aubert should stop and fix the software.

Got banned too !!! , I was asking about how soon the software fix would be available , and he proceeded to tell me to "stop complaining" !!! , this after I paid my hard earned money for the system . The Auto tune feature mas one of the main deciding factors in me buying the SM2 , now Im being told that it doesnt work !!. He also said that I should switch the injectors around , but I am using two injectors per secondary driver , according to Rice , that guy is a TOTAL ****!!

FUCKEN **** OF A MAN WITH AN INFERIORITY COMPLEX IS MR RAY HALL !!!

Just ask Ray about High pressure Map upgrades for the SM2 LOL ! (I can post up an audio recording of the absloute rubbish/incorrect advice **FACT** he told my Supra customer (can you say embarrasing Ray ? Cant ban me of this forum you **** !)

Least I can deal with a bloke I trust and has ability now thank god, and not that dick head of a little childish boy.... Have fun ray and be carefull what you say about me, its not far for me to pay you a visit face to face and drive your head through your computer screen, would be worth the trip !!!

If Enzo could chime in here, please as I am certain that you have played with v1.99.

Since it seams that the software will not be fixed any time soon, have you swapped the injectors and trims with no other issues?

It should be as easy as swapping the pins at the ECU and flip-flopping the injector trims?

Peter, do you not like Ray? I am just curious.

Enzo, I am still curious as hell as to why you did not have a zero timing issue on your brother's FD and I do. It has to be something simple. Remember I have the barametric pressure correction offset by -8 degrees to get the engine timing at zero.

BK and I are working on getting the idle valve to work properly. Other than this v1.99 issue, it is a great ECU. When I ran a Haltech my engine popped constantly. Since I have been Autronic, same engine. And a damn good running engine.

enzo, I PM'd you prolly a couple weeks ago now and have gotten no response. I am very interested in the ECU, but am only worried with the lack of user support it has compared to others.

Use a real thin/small screwdriver. You need to get in and lift up the plastic tab to pull the pin out. It is easy to mess the tab up, so be careful. Once you get one, you will find it easy.
