Question Pod Filter Installation

Hello guys, I have a POD K&N air filter that I want to install in my s7 RX7, what do I have to do to put it in instead of the standard air box?? Any help would be good. there seems to be a lot of hoses etc that I aren't sure of what they do?? do I have to make a cold air box for it?? Cheers

you can't just whack any old pod filter on - you need a specific FD kit. If you have one, then all the pipes will hook up to it - and there will be no mystery.

You could use any old pod filter if you wanted to. It's just pretty cheap and nasty for a car that deserves better than a shonky job.

Some of those smaller hoses return air to the air box. Problem is sometimes (usualy when not on boost) they can suck air into the intake system. That's one reason why they are connected to the air box - to ensure that only filtered air enters the intake.

As Dainoi said, there are kits available for the FD with these connections on them. Go for one of them, it will look neater.
