In my optinion when you go 18" and up you normally have to lower the car or it will look like a 4WD Even though lowered coilovers like Tien etc handle ok while being very stiff, i like the handling of the stock car. That black front front spolier will get even more miffed as well!

I remember Motor magazine at the time crying bullshit! My type 2 definately made more power stock than my type 1 did even with a RE-A ecu.

I actually thought his was MB.

BTW the leather front seats were still the only choice in OZ at least as far as 95. I hate them

Thats what i was thinking...I like the stock wheels and its handling now....changing to 18"s will defin slow the car down....it will be more jumpy.....look like a 4WD like jimS6 said cause i had a set of 18"s on it b4 at a tyre shop...which means it needs to be lowered...then you are tempering with the very good factory setup already....
Why 18"s or 19"s ? cause it looks good....haha...just the look of it...I guess...not being practical.
I won't be changing my factory wheels unless if i find a set that i really want.

Leather and sunroof on S8 is rare. Sunroof i think was in fact only on special order. For an imported S8 expect to pay $40-42k for a good one. RS is the better choice

Yeah RS is a good choice. Actually, all the series 8 models are:
2002 Spirit R (Type A / B /C) : Last of the line, limited editions. 280HP, all the fruit. Special interior colouring. TYPE A/B/C determines spec. Type A gets awesome brakes, recaro's etc.
2002 Bathurst R : 280hp, adjustable shocks, carbon inserts, 16" wheels though
99-2001
Type RB : Base 265HP (came auto as well)
Type RB
Special Edition : 265 HP with spoiler, driving lights etc
Type R : 280hp 16" wheels
Type RS : 280hp, bilstiens, 17" wheels, better brakes
Type RZ : 280hp, bilstiens, 17' mesh wheels, better brakes , spiffy interior with carbon inserts, passenger footrest, only in white.
This is a very rough guide off the top of my head (DaiOni!! ) There are lots more subtle differences we could go into

Power FC definitely has the most runs on the board. Plenty of very high hp japanese FDs using them successfully - but I also note that some of the very best cars are running big $$$ motec units.
However, from what I've seen, the majority of australian rotary tuners use microtech - so availability and knowledge base becomes a factor.
voona - you're in newie aren't you?? that would make RX engineering the local crew - and, IIRC, they use microtech

Yes im from Newcastle, Ive 'heard' bad things about RX Eng... They are prolly really great, but you get spooked when more than 1 person tells you NOT to take your business there.
I also want to retain my AC and Cruise, and im not sure if its possible to do with the Microtech
Any comments are good
Thanks Guys

voona: I don't know anything solid about RX - only that they are the only (?) rotary specialist in newcastle, and, IIRC, promote microtech
what i said wasn't a recommendation - not to say they are good or bad
