Let me know what you want
Dan,
I bought an old '74 13b to rebuild and don't know what Atkins Kit components it needs or can accept as an upgrade ( ie FD corner seal springs). I have never rebuilt an engine before so this is all new . Can you recommend a kit or custom list of rebuild parts?
Here is a link to the info on the engine if interested .

I still have to clean everything up better and check tolerances but preliminary is that the housings , irons and rotors are OK . the front main bearing is seized on the eshaft but don't know if the shaft is damaged. Goal for the engine is to keep the stock ports and hitachi carb and swap into my 1979 SA that also needs a rebuild on the stock 12A.

i figured i ask here. upgraded rx8 seals. you got any? going boosted and want to rebuild to strength it up. only have 26k miles on car, what else do you think i should upgrade or replace? also i might of stripped 2 of the holes for oil pan on rear block. pm
thanks
thanks
if you striped the hole out. when you have the motor broken down. figure out what size thread stock is. go to msc.com and order some hexlicoils (sp?) it looks allmost like a spring. you drill the hole out to a bigger size tap it then you screw the coil in to the hole it will be stock thread size. the only other way i know how to fixed a striped hole is to fill it up with weld then re tap ect.

got answer on seals....
about stipped holes, i do plan to add some coil springs in there. or just replace whole thing. will c. the thing is, you think it will hold seal for mean time? it was actually 2 screws on a corner. the thing is, i didnt apply much pressure. i did more pressure on other ones and they held fine.
