E85 and AI
there is a recent thread entitled E85 V AI....
this is a thread.... E85 AND AI.
E85 properly managed allows us to really crank up the boost w very little of the usual turbo/rotary issues. no doubt we are able to work our turbos harder and in the process the turbos operate a lot closer to the right stall line. temperatures skyrocket.
i have K thermocouples at the turbo discharge and in the stock IAT location. they are accurate to one degree F and close to a mS.
so i have good data.
the compressor needs to chill a bit and it will only get hotter towards 29.
i really don't need any in chamber cooling,. but i do want to bring down the temperature of the charge air coming out of my turbo.
that's where E85 meets AI.
here's a dyno run from today...

the bottom two plots are the temp of the air coming out of the GT4094r turbo,
329 F, and the temp of the air at the stock IAT location 147F.
we are around 560 hp and will be raising the boost to 29.
i have will plumb a nozzle into the top of the air filter. straight water.
water and alcohol do mix
