13b PP running on meth

Now before you all tell me to search I have a I havent found what im after. Im looking to run a 13b PP on straight methanol. No 50/50 mix or anything. I want straight. Im looking to make hopefully make big HP. Im building a 1st gen to hopefully do a high 9s 1/4 mile. Can anyone help with this? I know that the amount of fuel usage roughly doubles. Im just after a little bit of knowledge. Is anyone running a setup like this? What power figures can I aim for? What sort of fuel pumps? What sort of seals? Are just steel ones fine? How big should the throttle body be? Any help would be awesome. Ive found that everyone is fairly tight lipped about these types of setups.

I've run methanol in dirt track cars, I can pass on to you this much:

The A/F ratio is more around 9 to 1 as opposed to 14.5 to 1 for gasoline. Realistically, plan on pouring about 40% more methanol thru than gas. In carbureted engines, we would start out by increasing jet area (not diameter) by 40%, that would get us close.

Methanol burns slower than gasoline. This is what makes it favorable in some circles. It provides a longer "push" on the piston. Subsequently you must ignite it earlier (advance timing) to take full advantage of this difference. What it might do against a rotor could be interesting.

Methanol runs cooler than gasoline. An advantage anytime. But doesn't like to fire at a temperature less than about 35-40 degrees.

It has very poor lubricating properties. Running a top oil (premix) in a rotary would be mandatory.

It burns clean, virtually no carbon buildup.

It is corrosive to most conventional fuel systems. Special hoses and seals compatible with methanol should be used as much as feasible. It also evaporates in fuel system components, leaving a white "crust" that can shut your fuel system down, necessitating a full hand cleaning. The practice to combat this is called "pickling", where you run gasoline thru the system and engine to rinse the methanol out when your done running for a few days. No problem on a race car, big hassle on a street car and probably the single biggest reason you see very few street methanol setups.

It burns with a transparent "invisible" flame. All you can see are the heat waves from the fire. Don't have a fuel fire!

Good Luck!

I run the setup you need...I run a P-port on Methanol and i also run high 9 seconds in the quarter mile.

Believe me its not that simple...To make a setup and just go 9's is very hard. You first have to build a good engine to support your setup and then you really need a good Chassis setup to run good,Gearing, weight of car.

I have the combination you need but can't just give you the answers just like that ,engine porting and fuel management etc...

It took me almost 3 years of research and some good money to make my car go fast..by the way i am selling My 9 second Rx7,this will give you a direction to go as fast as you want...I will sell my Rx7 with all the goodies except ENGINE.Let me know if you are interested, have a couple of people but no one is stepping up.

Yea i can understand you have knowledge that has cost you alot. Im after what kinda fuel system your running roughly? Do you still run a radiator? To run a high 9s pass were you running a 9 inch and a dog box? How much did your car weigh? Was it in a RX7?
