Video Data Overlay

Yet another reason why I love the AEM Series 2!!

NJMP Thunderbolt 11/10/2013 - YouTube

I have internal ECU data logging setup to record all my track sessions. I download the logs after each session to take a quick look to make sure everything was ok. I have been using a Racelogic PerformanceBox for a few years now to record lap times however now with the AEM I can include ECU data in my videos!

I use DashWare to sync my GoPro video and lap/ECU data. When viewing the ECU log in AEMdata you have the option to export to .csv (see attachment). AEMdata gives you complete freedom to tailor the csv export to your needs. This is critical because I can setup the csv file so the overlay software can use it. I selected the main channels I wanted to export, set the export rate to match the 10Hz rate of my GPS logger, then checked the box to export time column. Export time column is very important because this is what the video overlay software uses to sync the data.

Im finding new uses for the AEM every day
