AEM Post you experiences with the AEM EMS
the aem startup cal's suck.. probably due to the car they had, it was probably a pile of crap
i have a startup cal posted on the ems forum that runs pretty good in one of my customer's cars, basicly a stock 93.
if you have hesitation and the afr looks correct then start messing with the secondary injectors, when and how those come in makes a huge difference on the drivability and gas mileage.
right now im tuning a 94 single turbo that has 1000cc/1600cc, that car will cruise alot leaner with less secondary injector than the stock tt car will.
the owner of the TT car said the car now drives 100% better than it did stock and im still not done with it. i havent messed with the timing map or the ignition difference maps. It takes alot longer to tune an rx7 than pretty much any car i have tuned w/the ems. ( and i have tuned just about all of em ) i have a good 30-40hrs in the tune on the tt car and i havent even been on the dyno yet. the single turbo car... alot easier, but thats not sayin alot.
also one thing to note, the stock tt car.. at cruise the intake temps are around 125-130deg f, going up the more you boost, to the point of maxing the sensor at around 160 degrees. this is NOT a good thing. if it was a honda it would have blown up by now. the single turbo car, usually only a few deg above ambient at cruise, and i havent seen much over 100 deg.. about like it should be. both cars are running ~8psi and have the air filters in approx. the same spot.
