AEM No spark with AEM EMS

No spark with AEM EMS
My friend recently purchased an AEM EMS and has been unable to get any spark with it at all. The stock ecu produces spark, and when the EMS was put into two other 7s, they both produced spark. Anyone have any idea what the problem could be or where to start looking?
