basemap safe for startup?
Ok I got the following mods so far, intake, full exhaust, pulleys, greddy fmic, and a true full non-seq with tca doors removed ect.. Planning to do fuel very very soon but i was curious if it was safe to start teh car on base map *to make sure everythign is running after finishing up the non-seq..

No it's not Turbo'd
you need to give the ecu 12V... to upload it, maybe look at the pinouts and try to juice it with a spare battery or something... but I'd concider that dangerous, since you could connect the wrong two pins, and burn th ecu..
To answer your basemap question, it's really difficult to blow your engine under vaccuum, since it doesn't need much air or fuel... once you go into boost you're in troubble... that's why most base maps are "tuned" for driving to the dyno... so there is probhably enough fuel to keep the motor running, but not enough or too much to get it to boost...
If you have too little or too much fuel under idle, the car will just stall or rev / flood... so don't be afraid to experiment @ idle... but god help you playing with boost and not having a clue...
