Purchased this 1888 turbo 2 with a 1990 s5 swap, it is running on a adaptonic series 4 select ecu. The car still has the MAF, and it appears to have s4 throttle body as well.
The car had a very rough idle when the big electric fan kicked on, so I upgraded to FD alternator. This seemed to have fixed the idle issue but the dash lights still dim after revving the engine.
The issue Im having is when I go to give gas, the car bogs instantly. It also sound likes it misfiring while reving.
I do not know if this is a mechanical issue or if its in the tune, I attached a video and some photos if anyone can help me out!
i ended up finding a nasty exhaust leak at the turbo - downpipe. smoke was clearly leaking while revving the engine. Tourqed down all bolts and the car revs much smoother, can an exhaust leak really make such a difference?
I can't drive the car on the road due to weather so I am just starting in the garage.
can anyone help me out figuring out this setup, and if I should change to map sensor or keep the maf?
Is it weird that the car has an s4 adaptronic select Ecu, running on an s5 engine with s4 parts? the car also has an s4 throttle body with the single TPS.
i want to have the car setup for track and get the best setup possible. I was thinking of converting to map sensor, and relocating the bov from the turbo to right before the throttle body. Any advise on this setup from the expirenced rx7 tuners would be great, thanks!
