fans?

Ok guys, so i have been chasing down this cool running engine for some time now. So i finally bought another thermostat and drove on the highway today. temps are much better 177 on the highway cruising instead of 165 temp outside was 38ish. I posted this yesterday thinking it was something else because i had replaced the thermostat just last year: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...-cold-1111071/ posted this in the 3rd gen section.

But now here we go. So I have pettit's 185 thremofan switch. the fans do come on at or close to 185. IN the ECU i have them set to 190L/200H now. I unplugged the thremofan switch and gave that a try. set the fans to 165/180 to make sure they come on. Nothing happened temp was around 186 at the time. So i clicked the turn on with AC in the ecu and hit the ac button (I don't have ac took it out) and the fans came on. then turned the ac off. changed settings to 188/195 temp was at 185. turned the ac back on and the fans came on while at 185. So do we need the thermofan switch for the ecu to control the fans? From my findings seem like it's not working based on temp but, i can turn them on with the ac button... weird...

Would say to check your Aux Outputs, and trigger/invert them to start troubleshooting.
Would also check the relays. IIRC there are 4 relays which control the fan speed on the FD near the passenger wheel.
You will hear an audible click if the relay is working when you trigger/invert them, and the fans should turn on.

Edit: If you are not familiar with the fan system, each relay is triggered by different scenarios/events, one of them is your AC button/switch, and IIRC varying temperature readings from different sources.
Most people use the AC button to kick the fan to a higher level i.e. low to medium, or medium to high for added cooling. In your case/example, it sounds like when you hit it, it is on the low setting.
I assume you are using a PNP system, and unfortunately I do not know about the stock PNP system, so cannot answer about the thermoswitch.

Yeah, its most likely in the Aux Outputs section of the tune, or thats what I would check first. I now previous versions of Wari and the rx7 basemap had some issue with the fan setup where you had to change the fan function to an AND/OR...or something. I don't honestly remember, but if you can post a screenshot of how the Aux out is configured we can at least make sure that is sorted and eliminate it from the list if its set correctly.

I dont have a clue or any experience with the FD fan setup, but I a running an electric fan on my B2200, I am using one of the outputs to control a relay that runs the fan. Here is how it is setup (below). As for wiring, 12V goes to relay, ECM grounds relay to turn it on, relay powers fan. Mine comes on at the exact temp as read in Adaptronic.

Oh, my values are in Celcius

Venture to guess you are on old firmware. See thread here

So did you check the settings as indicated on the thread/fix i posted?

Ya i did so my fans no matter what come on at 185. I can get them to come on at a lower temp but not hotter. I have a feeling it's the pettit 185deg fan switch.
