Where did this thing come from?

Well in the process of working on my car I removed the old Sway bar off the shell, which turned out to be an aftermarket one.

Needless to say its badly rusted and looks like crap. But I am going to sandblast it and enamel coat it for ***** and giggles.

The problem I noticed is that the links it used are different than normal links. It seems that the links connect to the sway bar from the side rather than straight through like normal.

Which brings me to my questions..

1.) Who makes/made this Sway Bar?
2.) where do I find these style of links? (the old ones are badly rusted as well)

Not a very good picture but you should be able to discern what I mean. If you look at the lower right corner of the picture you can see where the bar flattens out for the links to connect to.

Talk to Billy, he can hook you up with the end links you need. It looks like it uses the same type, like a ball and socket (heim joint?) that the Respeed bar uses.

That looks like the stock front sway bar, brackets, and tension link, to me... Not used to seeing it from that angle, though.

The stock sway bar mounted from the side?

That seems odd to me.

The sway bar is definitely a big front bar. I had this car before he did, I was going to take it off but I didn't need it.

i emailed the guy who built the car

"Wow I had to really think about this one.....

I believe its the one from Mazda Motorsports.
See this catalog.....

http://www.mazdamotorsports.com/pdfs...Suspension.pdf

But the part number makes me believe its a Ground Control part. Do you still have the sway bar off the car? I thought the car was looong gone!"

i think the mazdacomp bar is the GC bar...

justin, you know alvin?

The Suspension Technique Sway Bar in the catalog is a dead ringer for the rusty one I have. I'll see how much new links will be and probably sandblast this one and coat it in enamel.

As for the car being long gone? Check out this thread to see what's been happening to that car: https://www.rx7club.com/build-threads-293/rising-ashes-pics-warned-812400/

This was just one of the things I took off the car that I was debating on keeping or not.

Did you ever talk to Billy about getting the endlinks you need?

IIRC, it used an adjustable end link.
