FD Suspension setup

Hi there,

After much searching, I'm still stuck and would appreciate some advice on what to do next for my suspension...

I currently have:

Cusco Front and rear sway bars
Delrin bushes
FEED Toe links
New pillowballs
Standard shocks with TEIN S-Type springs (Were on the car when I purchased it)
Standard rims

I mostly drive on the street, but do a fair few track days per year...I don't mind it a bit more of a "harsh" ride...within reason :P

Thanks very much

Jon

Koni shocks. If you plan to do any road course (track) driving, you'll want to look into some upgraded sway bar mounts.

Had a look for the Widefoot ones but can't find them anywhere...

They will be compatible with the cusco bars I assume?

Hi Jon,
Yes, I like to hide the Widefoot line to maintain exclusivity! ;-)

Actually, you can PM me here, or email me at:

widefoot [the at symbol] comcast.net"

Let me know if you're still looking for mounts, and if so
what swaybar setup you have now.

Thanks,
David Breslau

Shock and Spring valved combo should be your next move.

I have KONI single adj shocks and they are fine you can set them pretty soft for those off track days. I know a lot of guys using Tein Flex coilovers and they compliment the system on track a lot.

Sticky tires will make the biggest difference you will ever feel! Yes HP/TQ lines are impressive but the feeling of you two kidney's kissing one another in the middle of the turn is intensely good. If you do get more $ to play with then I would suggest you go for much wider wheels and tires. Rx7's can stuff quite a lot of rubber under those fenders.

No problem but just so you know the McLaren F1 team runs KONI not tein LOL

just joking

Tein is a well packaged system w/ the EDFC option available to control damping from inside the car as the lazy boys dream you just can't go wrong. I'm actually contemplating the switch myself. My friend has a 3000gt w/ that system and just changes settings with a push of a button from the cabin. On the other hand once you get your settings down you don't make changes often at all. After I figured out what works w/ the KONI's I almost never change it. Street setting is on full soft...and track setting is the one I marked.
