10th AE FTW !!!!
NO, that is a standard K40 radar detector. You could order the face plate to say any brand you wanted. I even installed those back in the day into Ferrari's with the Designed for Ferrari name on it.

It was not a 10thAE part. Calling a dumb K40 remote radar detector a 10thAE only part is like saying that Bridgestone tires were an 10thAE part.

Another hint that it was not even port installed is that look at the mounting bracket for the receiver sticks out and is not even cut custom for the car or receiver.

Didnt they also have mudflaps and a tinted visor for the sunroof? I just noticed my other 7's dont have them. I think it also has an extra protective coat of paint(not sure what to call it) that covers the lower half of the car.

Any FC could have mud flaps... they were available from any mazda dealer and aftermarket.

and tinted visor for sunroof? The visor for the sunroof that pops up when the roof is rolled back is the same metal visor found on all FCs.

and all S4 models had rubberized lower body panels.

Ok didnt know that. But the visor for the sunroof on mine isnt metal its a tinted plastic. Not talking about the metal sunroof part itself but a visor mounted right in front of it on the roof. Its the width of the sunroof and stretchs about 6 inches over the sunroof opening.

maybe it was optional.
because i know it came from the dealer with this.
i think we were able to get them back in 88 in Canada. so i guess they were from here.... because teh 10th AE was sold only in North America.
maybe it was optional in Europe on the whole line-up of FC models they had.

Or maybe the dealer had it installed by the local auto stereo shop so he could charge even more for the car.

Is it on the window sticker?

If no, then it is not Port or Factory installed, and therefore aftermarket.

K40 at no point ever built a part for Mazda OEM install. You would be lieing if you claimed that was a Mazda Factory part installed by Mazda.

I mean just look at the receiver bracket... how you ever seen any Mazda factory part made that crappy, that it doesn't even fit the part? Of course the fact that I used to sell and install the same units... and had stickers for Ford, Toyota, Mazda Chevy, Dodge, BMW, etc... well I guess because your's came from the dealer with it installed.... well that makes you right and me wrong, eh?
