If the HID kit uses new projector housings, then I'm very interested. Is that the case?

Just FYI,

I have the Knightsport kit. Quite frankly, if I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't get it. The quality is not what I expected. It requires a lot of tinkering for the fitment not to mention the instructions are in Japanese and basically go:

Step 1: Remove stock headlights
Step 2: Install KS headlights

It also requires cutting of the stock headlight covers. I don't have the kit completely installed, but I'm working through the issues. Honestly, if I hadn't already modified one of the housings, I would have put it up for sale. I do have an added issue as I have a larger aftermarket oil cooler which also is giving me issues.

I got my KS kit from Ramy early January this year...

I have to partially agree w/ Mahjik... =P There are some fitment issues that i was quite disappointed by KS, but after everything's put together.. it still looks really sweet. IMO, there isn't a aftermarket light for FD that look this good.

I got the standard kit because i was planning on replacing the H3 bulbs w/ 2 sets of HID kits i have, but the kit itself is so clean, if you try to DIY the HID, u'll have to cut a big hole behind each fog light. So i'm keeping the standard lights .... which isn't too bad.. they're actually brighter than my stock lights. But if i were to do it again, i'd save up more $ and get the HID kit.

Hits:
-the light angle and bracket is very well calculated and thought out so when the light flips up, it sits very low almost like sleepy eye.
-there are no waste of space as far as the distance between the actual lense which makes it look like it's factory original.
-Installation was cake
-back of the IPF lights are completly sealed off with rubber cover made perfect for the wires.

Misses:
- requires trimming of the front 2x bracket. leaving only the rear 2 bracket to hold it in place. so if your double sided tape in the front isn't secured well, the back brackets can break, and your headlight cover can fly off on the freeway. (Which did happen to my FEED knockoffs, now i'm using my original stock ones)
-The black housing is fiberglass. I wish it was plastic. and the fitment of the black cover isn't 100% perfect.. there's a little bit of gap by the lenses.
- If you want to convert it to HID yourself, you will need to hack a big hole in the back of the rubber housing behind the light to fight ur HID bulb through... there's no clean way around your DIY HID conversion

I wanted these lights since they came out in 1996/97 ... and still today, I haven't found another kit that can replace this look. I have a pic of the whole kit separated out prior to installation.. but i'm away from my home right now.. i'll post them up this weekend.

Unhappy

I'm out, I thought the KS kit was bolt on..
After reading the above, I don't like to hack/cut/trim and use double sided tape to secure things.
I already had a headlight cover fly off and at the price this kit is going, it's not worth me risking my time and money.
Thanks.

Ahh, that's too bad. I've been eyeing this kit for over a year now. If it was direct bolt-on, I'd be all about it. Now, not so much.

Thanks for the feedback. I wasn't expecting much of a price break but thought it was bolt-on also. For this money, it sounds like you can make your own and come out with something comperable in quality.

that's what i thought too... but its been 10+ years now, and i still haven't seen one

which is why i finally got it. I don't mean to sound like i'm advertising for them cuz i'm not. In fairness, the kit IS 95% bolt on. just trimming the front 2 bracket under the headlight cover isn't.

There are custom lights that look really good, but w/out the black cover, it just looks "custom" and totally looses OEM look. Its not the IPF lights itself, but it's the lights holding bracket and black cover that's where the real value's at.

If we're THAT close, I have no prob running the GB. I didn't say anything for a min cuz some ppl were no longer interested etc...so I wasn't sure where we're at. So yea, if everyone on the list is still 100% serious, I'll see what I can do.

Thanks,
~Ramy
