I just bought my FD last week (noob) and I want to take this trip as well. So, Tracy rest stop on Friday October 27th. What is the approximate time of people meeting? I am coming from Santa Clara so if anyone is leaving from closer to here would be fantastic too. I need to get involved with the rest of the experienced RX7 owners here in the bay area.

just looking furthur- the Rest stop is just south of the 580/I-5 intechange? is that right?

it seems like we were stopping there much earlier for SS7. i believe the lost hills stop was at @10

Yep, the rest stop is right after the interchange... very next exit as I recall (so stay right at the interchange).


Well last year (SS8) we did two runs... one groupe went early, and one group (Nader and my group) went late. We hit the Tracey rest stop around 1:30pm.

But the problem of doing the late run as that it took us 11 hours to get to the hotel from North Bay

 

I say we meet up early. That way we can get down there at a decent hour!

 

well last year, I just didn't want to get up at 5 am to meet the first group and people from the NW, so Nader and I decieded to go later.

But I think that the 10am meet up will be a better time than the too early and too late runs of last year

 

This run is on friday, right? I won't be able to join the caravan. I'll have to leave early Saturday mornin'. Stupid nine to five. Haha.

well it looks like the NW folk will be meeting with the Norcal RX-8s at

SANTA NELLA CA. (102 mi. from Sac, 42 mi. from Gilroy)
[Bay and Sac caravans join up]
8:15 am. depart: 8:45 am.

which will put us at


LOST HILLS CA. (129 mi.)
10:30 am. depart: 11:00 am

using the stops from before.

wow great caravan. just a question. not sure if i should start a new thread but, will anyone be organizing a caravan for people to meet on 101? then after we can meet up with the rest of the giant caravan when we get to I5. cuz i live in san jose and would really like to join the caravan.

To anyone who is meeting at the rest stop....BE THERE AT 10 AM sharp! I don't think that we want to stand around holding our dicks waiting for people...so figure out your times and get there in a timely manner. I myself would like to get there early...bout 9:30 ish...

Ideally, I'd like to leave the rest stop at 10:30...theres a gas station about a quarter mile past the stop so if anyone needs to fuel up at that point, you'd better do it quick.

Oh...and another thing...make sure you have a 2 way radio. We'll figure out a channel another time....
