Zaino in combination with other polishes?

Zaino is great. it gives a gloss better than anything else I've seen, if my car was flawless, I would never have to buy another cleaning product....

...my car isn't flawless...

Last night I was re-introduced to to turtle wax's color cure polish. The one with red within the dye which covers minor blemishes and road chips.

This stuff works amazingly well for what it was designed. But, it doesn't have the same brilliance as zaino.

what I'd like to do is use the turtle wax color cure as a base, and then instead of stripping all the wax with something like dawn, go straight to applying something like z2 or z5?

any thoughts?

Well Z2 has better optical qualities then z5...but I seriously doubt if turtle wax would improve things when combined with Zaino...I just straight up use Zaino for everything...

that's exactly my point. z2 and z5 make the car look great! they also do a great job of showing every detail of the car's finish. which means rock chips, paint flaws, etc. Turtle Wax's Color cure does a great job of masking those impurities.

example: I have some corosion on the drivers side fender. almost like bird crap in 4 small paper clip size drops in a row. it looks like it sat and then corroded the clear coat leaving 4 white marks.

using zaino makes these stand out, where as turtle wax makes them all but dissapear.

don't think so

I think the Zaino instructions are pretty clear that you are not supposed to mix any other products with it. I guess the layers have to work together to get that shine.

Call Sal Zaino for the real answer. I had a question for him once when I first started using the stuff so I sent him an email - with my phone number in the bottom of the email - and he personally called me that night to answer my question. He's all about customer service and seems to really care that you are happy with his products.

If I owned a business like his, I know what I'd say. "Use my products and my products only" I guess I'll just have to try it out.

Why not just take a Q-tip and apply the colored wax to the spots that need it and leave the Zanio on the rest?

I haven't tried spot polishing. that's a good idea.

Thanks
