YOUR HELP NEEDED: photos of your door frame/molding
I recently had my car completely painted, and it seems the molding and seal around the doors were installed improperly. The area is where the frame around the window meets the body. I want to show the paint shop pictures of what it should look like when properly installed.
I've been unable to find photos in the forum or online that are close enough to see the detail of the molding and seal. Now I'm reaching out to the community for help. I'm specifically looking for close ups of the molding, rubber seal in between, and how the door rubber meets that molding when closed.
I also don't recall the screws that hold in the windshield being exposed before. Most of the screws have a plastic cover that hides them, but the outermost screws on both sides are bare and I think they lost these screwcovers.
Would FD owners please take a closeup photo of your FD body where the upper portion of the door meets the car, and also the screws (or screw covers) where the windshield is held in place?
Thanks everyone!

I think your talking about the outer window sill molding. Sorry, no pictures.
And if your talking about the cowl (black plastic underneath the windshield and wiper arms) your right....those screws should be covered. A common issue is that the covers dry out and are brittle from years under the sun. The lip portions that allow them to snap into place break off when you remove them. As a result they don't stay in place by themselves.
Two options I know of:
1. If they find them, use a dab of clear silicone to hold them in place. Once set, they stay on well until the next time you have to remove them.
2. Go to a 'U-PULL-IT lot and look for a 2nd Gen. Ford Probe, MX3 or MX6. They use the same covers. Carefully pry them off so they don't break and re-use. Get a few extras if possible.
