i can only _just_ get the stock ally FD jack in the gap between my front wheel and sideskirt when the car is on the ground. So i use that to jack up on the lower control arm for a bit until I can get a trolley jack under the crossmember.. i think maybe my car is a little too low :]

no **** about the darwin award. stacks of 2x4s? DIY ramps? christ, invest $40 in a jack and stands so you don't die.

Always jackstands; never liked ramps. Ramps don't let you do suspension work and when under the car ramps always seem in the way. Jackstands still seem safer to me; there's no chance of the car rolling when used correctly. I can also carry/store a floor jack and stands in less space than I can ramps.

jackstands if i do it at home. i have a buddie with a lift and i am in good with my old autoshop teacher so i can go there when ever i want and use the lifts.

Of course one of the jacks is a transmission jack and 1 of the floor jacks and 2 jack stands are a permanent fixture at my friend's shop, so I only have four jacks and 6 jack stands in my garage. Confused yet?
