Yashio factory coolant temp gauge
Hey has anyone here ever had any experience installing a yashio factory coolant temp gauge? I have one, and all of the destructions are in Japanese. Not helpful. I was wondering if anyone has already accomplished this task. Let me know!

Yeah. I did that. The thing is, every time i ask those guys a question they send me back some really lame response. Like one time i asked them if they knew any japanese manufactures that produced t3 manifolds for the fd. Their reply to me was something like. All japanese tuning companies have very good reasons for making the parts that they do the way that they do. They build their parts after extensive r&d to ensure the highest quality. ???? wtf! So i'm not expecting anything remotely coherent from them with my question of what wires go where. We'll see i suppose. I'm sitting here with my japanese dictionary and the interweb trying to translate this stuff.

if it is an electrical signal gauge, then you should power, ground, illumination, and signal (from water temp sensor)
You may have an extra ground for the illumination too.
Mechanical just means that the gauge has a hard sensor line that attaches to it. NOT very fun to deal with routing and such in these cars.

Yeah. The problem i'm having is there is a power, ground, and some kind of led wire. I dont know if the power is supposed to be 12v constant or 12v switched. As for the led wire. I dont know if it is supposed to hook into the dimmer circuit. I have someone translating the instructions today i think. Thanks for trying to help out.

the led is the gauge lighting. you hook that up to the dimmer switch signal, so it will behave the same as the factory gauges.
this is of course assuming the led has an inline resistor already in place. This will assure the maximum amperage applied to the led will not fry it.
then you have no light.
