Y pipe question
Y pipe question
I was trying to locate my faulty secondary turbo problem. When I unbolted my y pipe from my turbos, it just came apart from where its sectioned together. Is it supposed to just easily come apart like that? Or could that be my problem? Car is a 93
when you say it came apart, do you mean you were able to remove it easily or that it's splitting at the seams?
Couplers themselves aren't particularly tight around the pipes, it's the clamp that keeps it sealed.

I use square section o rings on that joint on customers cars .. The section I made for my BNRs ,before Brian modified the y pipes for customers , has three O-rings made into it for a great seal . Life is good when you have a lathe .
i bought and installed the efini y-pipe and after a few months, one of the nuts on the secondary side came loose and it was leaking secondary boost like crazy. i think the o-ring that came with the 99 spec was smaller than the original, because it was pretty loose...
