Xcessive LIM with FFE ID2000 fitment

Xcessive LIM with FFE ID2000 fitment
After a few days of searching for others with this problem, I've found no posts about issues with installing the Full Function Engineering secondary rail with ID2000s into the Xcessive LIM.
I've ordered and received the correct parts, and followed their instruction page from their website: http://fullfunctioneng.com/info/REW_RailsV1.pdf
"34mm injector, 70mm bolt"
I have the blue O-ring inserts installed into the Xcessive LIM, ID2000s with the 2 lower O-rings. The 70mm bolts bottom out in the manifold. It seems the bolts need be about 5mm shorter to make the rails seal and fit properly.
My only other option or thought is to tap the bottom threads of the LIM so I can thread the bolt straight through. I'm hoping I'm just doing something wrong to make this an easier/quicker fix.

Thanks for a quick reply! That's the only thing I could figure. It is indeed very cheaply casted. With this setup I'm only going to be running two injectors, 4 if I choose to do E85 later this year

I believe the injectors are supposed to be able to move up and down a little. I thought this was to assure there was no unnecessary pressure on the injector body?

Injectors should be able to rotate freely once the bolt that hold the rail is bolted down, otherwise you can crack the injectors and have a BBQ on your engine bay.
did you removed the black plastic piece in the bottom of the injector below lower O ring?

I remember you going through that unfortunately. This car has had a BBQ years ago, I would hate to destroy the ID2000s and have another fire. The bottom injector diffusers have been removed
Looks like you just need to tap the hole in the manifold a little more, so the bolt goes through. The spacer ought to provide the distance necessary to keep the injector at the right tightness, and your rail isn't even seated on it.

Ran a tap through it today, easy as pie. For anyone wondering, the tap used was (8mm X 1.25)



Like what ptrhahn was saying, the spacer provided the distance necessary to keep the injector at the right tightness. Injectors are nice and snug, but with enough play to spin them freely like they should be. Thanks for the advice and help from everyone.

The part is full of casting holes and imperfections like this and others that cause installation problems.
It is relevant in this thread as the op is having problems with installation due to inconsistencies in manufacturing. If the part was made better and had better quality control the op would not have this problem.
