WTF is up with my brakes?

Since I've got my car, I've head this noise every now and then, but now I'm hearing it all the time and it worries me. As I drive along (I can hear it best at speeds of 30mph and below), I hear this constant click-clacking noise. Sometimes it mixes in with a little squealing noise (sort of sounds like metallic brake pads, but I hear the squeaking when the brakes aren't applied). The clacking noise sounds like it's coming from my passenger side rear wheel, but I sometimes hear it come from both that wheel AND from the front end of the car. This noise goes away when I apply the brakes.

If I apply the brakes, sometimes I feel a slight pulsing through the pedal as I slow down. If I barely touch the brakes while around 10mph, I feel a shorter but more noticeable pulse which occurs as frequently as the "clack" noise would be (is the brakes weren't applied). This noise is getting irritating and frankly it's worrying me. Are my calipers messed up or something? I'll try to look at my rotors, calipers and check the pads when they cool down.

Gaaah, and on top of that my boost is getting all funky, in every gear....

I would get a dial gauge and see if the rotors are warped...

if the pads are new and you dont turn your rotors ...it can happen...
rotors could of just warped...
or a brake pad(shoe) could of broke...

I guess that makes sense, it does sound like the brake pads could be a little loose. I've been in a car with warped rotors, and this does feel quite a bit different (i.e. I only feel light pulses in the pedal, not through the whole car).

Classic symptom of a warped/cracked rotor.

only way to check them is to take them apart and clean everything ...
might want to take a block and some sandpaper to the pads....
and as long as you have them off, might as well have your local parts store turn the rotors ...not that expensive...they charge me about 4-5 bucks a rotor....

Ahh, turns out it was the cheap-o pads that were stuffed in the calipers. The tabs that hold it in place in the calipers (at the ends of the brake pads) are a little too short, so when they're pressed against the rotor they move around, causing noise. If I brake or go over a bump, or whatever, they can get loose and start jiggling around in the caliper. I'm putting Porterfield street compound pads in ASAP, rotors are going to get machined down if they're warped at all/replaced. I'm glad I wasn't driving around on something SERIOUSLY dangerous, turns out it was just a really annoying noise.

I wouldn't machine the rotors - I'd buy new ones and throw these in the corner as spares. Plain'ol Brembo blanks are excellent and pretty cheap.

Yeah Brembo blanks sound like a good bet. I'm looking to get rid of my cross-drilled fronts anyways, I think they look cheesy.
