Thumbs up Wow...just cleaned out my Throttle body....what a difference!!

I have been having a strange idle upon startups just recently and decided to open up my throttle body for some cleaning. I haven't done so in over a year and MAN WHAT Crap that came out of there ! I used up half a bottle of carb cleaner and flushed it out thoroughly. Put it back together and wella.....PERFECT idle upon start up now. Does anyone know what causes Carbon build up in there??? Is it just a normal thing or what? Anyway, just thought I'd share that with you all in case you're having some idle problems.

Just pop off that elbow to intercooler and be sure to open up the double butt. and the bottom and spray till it runs clear of carbon. I just stuck a rag underneath to catch all the cleaner. Be careful not to get to much carb cleaner on the engine especially if its hot. It will burst into flames if hot enough...(right Jack hehe !! ?)

I've polished about 10 manifold and 10 throttle bodies within the last few weeks and I throughly clean the inside of them out with brake cleaner/carb cleaner before i return them to their rightful owners.

Some of the crap that comes out of those things is absolutely amazing.

If you guys want to do it right. Instead of just the throttle body. Remove the entire UIM and bring it to a shop that has a tiggo degreaser. They can dunk it in and it will clean up riteously. Either that or just take two bottles of brake cleaner to it and a garden hose to it and clean it off with a terry cloth.

OR......you can send botht your manifolds and throttle bodies to me for polishing and I will clean them both out for you.

Forgive the ignorance...The UIM is the ribbed part of the intake on the top of the engine right? What's the TB look like? Pics?

The TB is the carbuerator looking thingy between the ribbed part thingy and the intake tube thingy.
