Wow....can someone look at this please.

The front bolt on my motor was never torqued during my rebuild (why, I don't know) and I had removed it to check my thermal pellet (which I have to extract now because it was installed backwards and is now lodged in the e-shaft) and after I got the front cover off, I find what I'm looking to check.... the top torrington bearing is completely out of place.....BUT,I am so happy right now that I looked!!! Had I never looked and torqued the front bolt on, it would of crushed it, and caused definite motor failure if it even started in the first place.

OKAY, now, I'm looking at the FSM, and I think I'm seriously missing some stuff in there. My motor was a blown reman, and I kept track of every part, so if I am indeed missing something, it means that the mazda tech that assembled the reman in the first place forgot these parts, hence why my motor went at 26k. Just a thought.

Anyway, I'm going to list, in order, how all my thrust bearings, washers, spacers, etc were installed, and its not the same as the FSM and I am just wanting to verify what I am missing, and that they are indeed needed regardless of a persons setup. Here we go.

Front Bolt
Main Pulley
Gear Drive
Oil Pump Gear Drive
Counter Weight
Bearing
Spacer
Plate
Bearing
And then the Front Stationary Gear

Looking at the FSM, I am assuming that the Thrust Washer is that washer that is already seated into the counter weight, but I'm still missing what I believe is the little Thrust Plate that is suppose to be placed in after the first bearing and before the spacer. And I think some other stuff was out of order too.

Am I correct that I'm missing the Thrust Plate and some of it was out of order (should of gone large plate, spacer, small plate, bearing, correct?), and also does the Thrust Washer seat inside the counter weight? I'm looking at the online 3rd gen FSM, and I just want someone to verify all this that knows how it is supose to be. If I'm right, mazda forgot the Thrust Plate on the reman that was already in my car when I bought it.

Oh, and I have to check the end play, so I don't even know at this moment if the spacer that was installed is still within spec.

That answered it.

Wow, this motor was almost rebuilt TWICE without the thin and thick thrust washers.
