Would you replace this water pump? Kubota - squeak and some play, no leaks

Had the belts off and checked the pulleys, found this:
It is smooth to turn though.

It's a Kubota. Is this a Mazda stock or aftermarket?
It is from 2010 and has probably done 12000 km (that's about 7000miles)

Before I added the Pineapple idler (the previous owner would have had the belt overtightened to stop slippage (air pump removed)) I had to do the alternator bearing also as was VERY squeaky during running. The Pineapple idler bearing has shat itself but the seal seems to be rubbish and let all the grease fly out, as the belt has been to spec, but they are supposed to be sending me new bearings for it.

I can't tell if the water pump is making any noise during running as the engine/exhaust/injectors are too loud, but I coulda sworn I heard a bit of a squeak at the lights but of course that could have been the repacked idler (while I wait for replacement properly sealed bearings). So there isn't evidence here.

What is the failure mode of a water pump?
I don't fancy bits of water pump around my engine if it fails catastrophically. That sounds like you would have to take the entire engine apart just to find all the bits.
Or will it just get to the point it is so loud during operation?

Cheers

Kubota is the stock pump. I would replace it. You may have to replace the water pump housing if the pump was run for a long time with no idler pulley, I just did an engine where the pump ate into the water pump housing due to bearing slop.

Water pump isn't a bad job on the car, and you're halfway there with the belts and stuff out. I would also inspect the thermostat and make sure that's fine while you're in there.

Thermostat has a rubber seal that goes around it. No RTV used.

The new thermostats are coming with a weird ring, I would pay a few bucks and get the stock gasket as well.

This is the thermostat seal/gasket -

I recommend replacing the water pump on every motor build. Be careful with the Ebay stuff. There are a lot of cheaply made and counterfeit parts. I sell an updated water pump that is a direct bolt on and offers similar benefits to the 99 pump Mazda started using in Japan for a fraction of the price. So the pumps you have are fully rebuilt i.e. bearings, seals etc, with the newer model wheel on them?
You don't appear to offer shipping to New Zealand though?

The pumps I sell are 100% brand new, NOT rebuilt. They have an updated impeller and cone design. Yes I can ship anywhere. The shipping calculator online can be glitchy for international shipping. About $80 to ship to you.

You should update your webpage as it says:

-%100 brand new. No core fee. Mazda water pumps are remanufactured and a core is fee is charged

which is a contradictory statement...

$80 shipping is a bit steep, I was expecting more like $30. Let me know if you can do anything on this. Unfortunately your website still only lets me select USA as country and I have tried multiple times. But I am interested in your product as it sounds promising...

How is that a contradictory statement? My water pumps are 100% brand new and I do not require a core. Mazda water pumps are remanufactured and there is a core fee.

International shipping is expensive. I priced out shipping for a USPS medium flat rate box. If you have a better suggestion or want to send me a pre-paid shipping label you are more thna welcome to.

Ok I read it wrong. It is a water pump for a Mazda and I have never heard of re-manufactured ones (at least over here)...
I only questioned the shipping as other water pumps shipping from the US is ether $80 as you have quoted or closer to $30. Not sure who is using what and maybe it depends on the state. Anyway i guess I will assume if I want your product it is $80 to get it here.

I went on the usps website and it gave me a quote around $80 for a medium flat rate box. I tried with a smaller box and looks like I can do if for like $61.

I actually found a redirection service meaning it only costs $20USD to get from you to the redirection warehouse (shipping across the states still seems very expensive but for all I know the state the redirection warehouse is in is the other side of the country from you) and then $30NZD (about $20USD) to get it here. You probably saw an order for it go through yesterday.

Oh yeah pics show how it was about to explode. Previous owner had no idler so overtightened the belts. It wasn't leaking externally but there was a little rust on the longest bolt showing there was a very minor leak into the that particular bolt cavity.

I put on the Pineapple Racing idler which has failed due to a poor seal so it has run dry. This appears to be a common problem with them. Initially they agreed to replace the bearing but contact has gone dead on their end and it is meant to have a lifetime warranty...

more hairline cracks, I didn't notice them while covered in usual grime while on the car
