Would this work?

OK, I've decided to go non-sequential, now I was helping a buddy out on his 90 AWD GSX. The way that they control boost is they have a vacuum line hooked up to pressure source then they have a boost controller aka T-valve that they can restrict air flow with which then runs to their wastegate which only has one nipple. So I was thinking. If I take out the butterfly valve in the Y-pipe pull off the secondary flapper and wire it open, cap one end of the wastegate and run a manual boost controller in between a boost source and the other wastegate nipple well would it work?

Yep, it sure would. At that point, the boost control system is as simple as it can get - a reference boost source and the wastegate diaphragm.

Probably want to run new vacuum lines, too - the stock lines have a pill in them that will fight with the boost controller.
