Would any one want to buy this and for how much.

My cousin graduated from UTI and is in love with my FD. While talking he really wants to rebuild a 13B. My question is IF we did do this and used the Atkin Rotary Overhaul kit, would any one want to buy it off of us when we were done, and how much would do you think it would be worth?

Rebuilds by newbs or non professionals for that matter aren't worth that much.

So really it would be for our own amusement then. I was just curios if we'd get our investment back out of it, or maybe even come out a little a head to do it again and try to always have one up for sale.

If you document the entire build with pictures video, and keep receipts of all replaced parts then you should be able to make a sale. I would install it and break it in at least to you can get an accurate compression reading and also make sure there was no assembly errors. You should make something out of it if you do that but how much depends on the core your starting with, parts replaced, etc. FD cores and engine parts are getting more expensive every day. Do you have a good core to start with that doesnt need a ton of parts replaced?

Okay, so if the engine came with receipts of all parts put into it, how much would you all be willing to spend on such an engine?

UTI stands for:

Urinary
Tract
Infection

School is horrible, waste of money.

IMHO you should build one for someone that has blown motor maybe just charging them cost of parts, see what your end result is before trying to sell your product. :-)

I can't see where the school is as bad as you say. Apparently a lot of name brand car lines, ie Lexas, Mercedes, all have tracts that students can go through for that specific line and they hire them right out of the program. I've seen what my cousin can do with hondas as far as part installation and tuning with Hondata. All stuff he learned through the school. I guess as with any form of school or training you get out of it what you put into it.

As for the engine, there is a 13B-REW someone has for around $550, not blown, but has around 110K on it. Thought we might pull it apart, change out all the seals and springs for the experience, then perhaps sell it.
